February 2006 Movie Reviews
I've never been a big movie buff, but I do watch them from time to time. Here are my smarmy quick and dirty reviews.
Highlander: A French guy as a Scotsman. A Scotsman as a Spaniard. With really cheesy music.5 out of 10
Grizzly Man: Eh. I didn't connect with this dope, the bears were cool, but very disappointed after all the hype. 4 out of 10
Stevie: A much better doc than Grizz Man. Gripping, harrowing - messes with your head. 8.5 out of 10
Run Lola Run: MTV-ish w/out being annoying. Very cool concept (Think "Sliding Doors" meets "Rashomon"), exploring how the little things in life can mean so much. 8.5 out of 10
Amerikan Passport: Balls out excellent doc from some kid who (thankfully) didn't know what he was doing when he visited every 1989-90 warzone the US had it's hand in. On IFC - must TiVo. 9 out of 10
